Super High Pressure Filter Press Project - Xianning WWTP

Xianning spa waste water treatment plant is invested and operated in the BOT mode by Beijing Sound Environmental Protection Group Co., Ltd. In order to explore a suitable sludge removal technology line for our factory, Techase cooperated with Sound Group and made a bold technical attempt to directly dewater the sludge from 80% moisture content without dilution and chemical dosage to 40%.

Electro-osmosis technology is to set the sludge in a DC electric field, so that the sludge particles and moisture migrate respectively to the positive and negative directions. At the same time, through the extrusion and filtering, solid-liquid separation is achieved, and the interstitial water, capillary water, and adsorbed water of the sludge are removed. According to different uses, the moisture content of the sludge is reduced to 40-60%.


Depth of the conventional project is to first dilute 80% of the sludge, then through chemical conditioning, and then pumped into super high pressure filter press for high-drying dehydration. Since the filter press is a steel filter frame and the filter frame withstands a large pressure difference between plates, we have boldly tried to pump 80% of the material directly into the filter press chamber and succeeded in the end. The advantages of this mode of operation are:

One. It seamlessly connects with the existing conventional sludge dewatering, which reducing the dilution and chemical conditioning work section and simplifying the process flow.

Two. The steel filter frame overcomes the problem that the diaphragm frame cannot withstand the large pressure difference. So it creates conditions for the subsequent dewatering of the sludge cake.

Three. It provides the most favorable moisture content work section for electro-osmosis technology, which reducing the energy consumption of electro-osmosis to a lower level and is conducive to the promotion of technology.

The technology is a secondary dehydration technology that can be directly connected with the existing conventional dehydration equipment without adding any chemical conditioner. It does not need a large-scale dosing system. It has a simple process system, small footprint, convenient operation and management, and provides protection for the subsequent treatment and disposal of sludge.
